It was finally warm enough to really enjoy the lake and the kids swam with friends 3 days in a row! (Mia was a bit upset that she was not allowed to swim on Sunday too.)

I also got to join the girls at school for a parents lunch/bbq - although the bbq was really just school lunch of hot dogs or hamburger and we chose to all bring our own lunch. But it was fun eating lunch with them and seeing their friends. The day before I worked at the bookfair and they managed to talk me into buying more books than I'd planned.
Usually we've only seen the deer farther off or in other people's yards (which is fine because I don't want them eating our bushes). But this past week I seen the deer twice right on our trail down to the lake eating the brush down there (fine with me - they can eat it but we can't develop it anyways - might as well have them trim them back a bit).
And we've had some gorgeous sunsets!! I was doing dishes Sunday night and was looking out at this . . . too bad the mosquitoes are horrible right now so I had no desire to go out and sit and enjoy it. Just went out long enough to snap a few pictures. So the mosquitoes have ruined a bit of our ENJOYMENT because all of us have been bit a ton and I ended up taking Chelsea and Mia home after sacrament meeting of church because they were scratching so much and needed a good dose of benedryl. But I am glad I went out to capture the picture - I didn't even edit this picture one bit because it seemed so perfect without!

Now on to the MUCH LESS ENJOYABLE part of the week . . .
(I made these pictures small to spare you the grossness unless you really want a good look and make it big yourselves)
Our dog is in BIG trouble!! He ran away AGAIN (seriously we stopped keeping track) Saturday morning when I drove Collin to work. Apparently his dog tag was so worn out you could no longer read where we live (the weekend before 2 people dropped him off at our house after they followed them on their jogs/bike rides).
So finally on Monday late afternoon Cameron calls to say an animal shelter had him. I had to get the kids out of the lake with their friends and take them with me across town (25 min away) to pick him up. Of course their was a $30 charge to get him out of "jail." Then when we were headed home Collin said he had 2 ticks and we didn't have any more of that medicine for him at home. Against my better judgement, I pulled over at Walmart and quickly made him a tag and got the medicine while Collin stayed in the car with Max. When we were almost home (5 min away) Collin starts screaming that the dog is pooping! BOY was I mad and sick when he said it was diarrhea! We rolled down all the windows and everyone made it home. Collin threw up when he got out of the car.
I had my camera handy to take pictures of the disgusting- ness before I backed into the grass and tried to spray it out as best I could. Then went off to the closest car wash to shampoo and vacuum it out!!!

You are a nicer mom than I am. If that would have happened in my car Max would have went back to the pound! Then again, if our dog ran away I would not even go look for him.
Love the sunset picture!
Oh my goodness Megan you are living Marley and me! That is so gross-I want to throw up thinking about you, pregnant having to clean that up. You are one compassionate lady to deal.
I want to live on a lake and I NEVER want a dog!
I'm with Bec. I'm not a dog person myself. However, life on a lake sounds glorious.
oh my goodness. that is disgusting. i didn't know dog poop could look like that! good luck!
That last picture should have been left out of your post. But I LOVE that sunset picture-it's awesome.
I'm so glad I ate breakfast before i read your blog. The poop pic was DISGUSTING! Which makes glad that I don't have a dog! But I could totally live with those sunsets. How beautiful!
Thanks for helping talk me out of a dog for now. That sure did it! LOVE your sunset picture!
I have one of these.. and I'm wishing you did, too. :)

Fun post (until that last part)! I remember going out to our cabin on the lake growing up. So many great memories.
**Again sorry about the dog stuff. You are a strong woman. I loved our dog growing up and cried when it passed. I am not at the point in my life where a dog fits in yet though.
I can't believe you would put that dog in your new car!!!! AND then for him to do that!!! Wow Megan that is gross, I think I would go switch cars at the lot when no one is looking! :)
All your other pictures were awesome! You need to blow up that Sunset and frame it for me and I can put it over my sink and pretend! :)
your prego pic is adorable! My kids saw it and were like "what Megan is pregnant again"??? I guess they haven't seen you in a while! :)
